Red roses and basic truffles for Valentine’s Day? That’s so last year. Love-struck romantics can now treat their health-conscious sweethearts to Tenderstem broccoli-infused chocolates.
The veg-flavored delicacy emerged after a photograph was posted on the NewFoodsUK Instagram account, which has over 319,000 followers. And it quickly racked up over 500 likes, with users taking to the comment section to share their thoughts on the unusual treat.

“This was made for me,” “The mrs will love this one,” said Zack.
“Definitely want to try the Tenderchoc,” added Hannah.
“Bit early for April Fools…,” added someone else.
“No. no. no. I love broccoli. I love chocolate. but this is a clear no no no.,” wrote another person.
“This was made for me,” added Issi.
The confection is made from 72% Ecuador origin dark chocolates, filled with a green ganache made of the brassica vegetable, blended with fresh Dorset cream and almond notes.
Each box contains nine artistic pieces, painted with green splatters of chocolate. Tenderstem paired up with British chocolatier, Chococo, to design the unusual creation. Brand director David Samuels, said: “Love knows no bounds, and neither does flavour.
“This Valentine’s Day, we wanted to offer something truly special and unexpected for lovebirds, to allow Brits to reflect their unique and special feelings with a unique and special gift. “We are thrilled to have joined forces with Chococo for this truly one-off offering and inject some classic Tenderstem cheekiness into the annual day of romance.”
Claire Burnet, co-founder of Chococo, added: “This partnership has been in the works for just under a year, so we are thrilled to be finally announcing our very unique collaboration. “Initially, we were surprised by the prospect of this partnership, but we were excited about the possibilities of using an ingredient as versatile as Tenderstem.

This isn’t the first time Tenderstem has been involved in creating an off-the-wall Valentine’s gift. Last year, TikToker India Atkinson was left stunned when her partner Eddie Baird ‘broccoli-bombed’ their flat in Belfast.
