A missing man was found to have met a grisly fate after his leg was found in a crocodile’s jaws.
Roberto Martinus vanished at around 6:40 am last Wednesday (7 Feb) after going fishing in a river.
A search operation involving boats was launched to find the 48-year-old.
More than 40 people, including police, wildlife rangers, and volunteers, took part in the efforts.
The next day (8 Feb), someone called the emergency services after spotting a person trying to fight off a crocodile.

Officers rushed to the scene near Kinabatangan, Malaysia.
When they arrived, they were horrified to find the reptile chomping on what looked like human body parts.
The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department said in a statement: “Police who were summoned to the scene fired at least 12 shots at the beast to make it release the victim.
“But their efforts only led to the recovery of the man’s left leg.”
Roberto was from Indonesia.
His relatives were called to the scene to identify his heavily mutilated remains.
They were taken away by the police “for further action”.
