The incident took place at the Xinhua Gate of the Zhongnanhai compound, where leaders of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) reside in Beijing, China.
Zhongnanhai is not only home to Chinese leader Xi Jinping, but also State Council and Politburo members and their families.
The unnamed suspect reportedly tried to ram the gate in the early hours of yesterday (10 Mar)
The suspect’s vehicle was apparently a high-end car and had Beijing license plates.
It is unclear if the man was staging a protest against the CCP for the current socio-economic situation in the country.
Ironically, a similar incident took place at Buckingham Palace in the early hours of Saturday (9 Mar) morning.
