To add further mystery to the discovery, it was found among some historical relics from a near-extinct ethnic group from the region known as the Irritila.
Inside the cave, locals found historical tools used for fishing and hunting as well as other unidentified skeletal remains.
The discovery was announced by a community living on the Mala Noche ranch close to the cave site.
The group said it possibly came from a nahual, a mythical shape-shifting race of people, or the fearsome Chupacabra itself.
They also claimed that the authorities aren’t interested in these kinds of discoveries, allowing the region’s history to slowly disappear.
Locals say the area’s caves are full of ancient paintings, artefacts and skeletal remains that could unlock answers to the mysteries of the nahual and Chupacabra.
The skull was found in the remote cave in the desert region of Cuates de Australia in Mexico.
A group of hunters claimed to have killed a mythical beast in a separate incident five months ago in Guia Lopes da Laguna, west of São Paulo, Brazil
They said they came across the vampiric creature while hunting wild boar on the edge of town.
One hunter claimed they chased the bloodsucking monster before their hunting dogs fought with it.

They then allegedly shot the beast dead.
The group filmed a video as proof of the monster’s demise.
However, sceptics said it could be a decomposing howler monkey. Separate
Howler monkeys are native to South and Central American forests and are commonly found in the area.
Reports also said that the animal appeared to be dead for several days and not a fresh kill, as claimed by the hunters.
There have been numerous alleged sightings of Chupacabra in the Americas since the 1970s, including as far north as Maine in the US and as far south as Chile.
However, all reported sightings have been disregarded as anecdotal and lacking evidence.
