A hotel with a bizarre bath-on-wheels that rolls out onto a public balcony has left TikTok users stunned – and comparing it to an “ancient embarrassment ritual”.
The Auberge aux 4 Vents hotel in Switzerland isn’t just a picturesque spot to enjoy a weekend away.
As well as offering a serene location at the edge of a forest, the property has a rather unique selling point.
One room offers a gorgeous bathtub that has its own set of wheels and a rail that leads it straight out onto a balcony.
From there, the bather can be ogled by people in the restaurant below – where dozens of seats are set out.
The unique set-up recently went viral on TikTok, with a clip of it racking up nine million views.
One person commented: “OVER THEIR CAFE TABLES?!”
“Idk why but I find this INSANELY hilarious,” said another fan. [sic]
Someone else added: “Imagine having coffee and someone just rolls out in a tub above you.”
“Jesus is this some kind of punishment? Some ancient embarrassment ritual,” another user quipped.
“The way it slowly carts you out lmao I’d be so embarrassed,” said another person. [sic]
Someone else commented: “Imagine bathwater splashing onto your croissant.”
“The other guests in the yard just looking up at you bathing like,” another viewer added.
“Nightmare situation,” said someone else.
German musician Christin Henkel also visited the hotspot, and shared a video of herself using the eyebrow-raising tub.
The clip shows her relaxing in the bubbly water as she slows wheels out into full view of the public below.
Another view shows how it looks from down on the patio, where the bath hovers above.
The hotel is located in the Granges-Paccot municipality of Switzerland, and has eight rooms with “different themes to appeal to fantasty and discovery”.
The balcony bath belongs to ‘The Cupidon’ room, which is described on the website: “As in a dream, floating upon soft and gentle rails all the way to heaven, the lovers dance their romantic song, a glass of champagne in hand, fresh air, stars above…”
The room costs from £234 (CHF 260) a night for one person.
