The horror unfolded at a local patron saint festival in Chumbes, Peru, on 8 August.
The attacker reportedly threw a bottle full of beer from the crowd, hitting Soraya Nieto Mendoza in the face.
Soraya later recalled to local media: “I went into shock because the bottle smashed right into my face.
“When it shattered, some of the glass hit the frames of my glasses. Thanks to my glasses, I practically didn’t lose my sight.
“I looked at my hand and touched my forehead. I had a huge lump.
“I started screaming, ‘My face, what have they done to me?’ Then I looked at my hand and saw it was covered in blood.”
After receiving medical treatment for cuts and bruises, Soraya returned to the scene accompanied by police in an attempt to identify the person responsible.
However, the suspect, identified by police as Agustín Vidal Prado Tenorio, had already fled, as reported by Need To Know.
At the time of the latest update, there was no information about his whereabouts.

As for the motive, Soraya and her group were performing on the main stage while another group was performing on an adjacent stage.
According to some reports, the suspect may have thrown the bottle because he was annoyed by the cacophony of the two groups performing simultaneously.
Soraya was prescribed 12 days of rest, forcing her to cancel at least three performances.
She has received psychological support and will continue to receive professional treatment.
She said the experience has left her afraid to return to the stage, as she remains fearful of suffering another attack.
The search for Prado is ongoing.
