Firefighters arrived on the scene and pulled Sharon and her pals from the mangled car.
Emergency medics took the young women to A&E.
Sharon’s condition was particularly critical.
She was admitted to the ICU in a coma with polytrauma and severely compromised haemodynamic and metabolic parameters.
Her friends and relatives were organising a prayer session for her in front of the hospital in Taranto, Italy.
But before they could hold it, Sharon died from her injuries yesterday (11 Mar) morning.
Her cause of death was given as multiple organ failure with cardiac arrest.
Her funeral will be held in Taranto this (12 Mar) afternoon.
Two of her friends are still hospitalised in stable condition.
The fourth has been discharged.
The police sealed off the accident site following the crash, but it’s not clear if they’re still investigating.
