A family of four has travelled over 20,000 miles visiting Hard Rock Cafés…and they want to do them all.

Zoe and David Leitch so far have been to 12 in eight different counties with their two children Luka 16, and Kailyb 10.

They have chalked off London Piccadilly Circus, Manchester and Newcastle in England.

Plus Edinburgh and Glasgow in Scotland.

The Leitch’s, of Darlington, Co Durham have also visited two in Italy, Rome, and Florence.

They have also dined at ones in the Spanish isle of Majorca and Copenhagen in Denmark.

Completing their list is Budapest, in Hungary, and Bucharest, Romania plus Orlando, Florida.

They plan their holidays around the famous diner chain.

Zoe 40, David, 48 and the kids still have another 160 to do as there are 172 in total.

But they have booked trips to go to ones in Amsterdam in the Netherlands and Paris, France later this year to start with.

They will then squeeze in Barcelona, in Spain, and Prague in the Czech Republic before the end of 2024 too.

They have spent over £8,000 on their unusual family hobby.

The idea started after the first Covid lockdown in 2020 when their holiday abroad was cancelled.

The four of them needed to plan a trip in the UK and decided to follow their love for the iconic bar and restaurant by driving to the venues in the UK.

On this ride they visited Hard Rock Cafe’s in London, Manchester, and Glasgow.

Whether it’s a full meal or just a few drinks the family cannot get enough of the rock and roll décor.

The family also have a jacket that David wears, which is kitted out with patches from each location they have visited.

Once they have been to the spot, they quickly hop into the shop and purchase a patch to add to their collection.

Zoe, 40, told Need To Know: “During Lockdown 2020, our holiday abroad was cancelled.

“With our plans being cancelled constantly during ‘Covid times’ we decided life was too short and we needed to travel more but we needed a plan.

“So we set our sights on visiting as many Hard Rock cafes as we could.

“We love the décor and seeing all the music memorabilia.

“We’ve been to 12 so far and have four more booked to do this year.

“We plan on visiting as many as we can whilst we’re still able to.

“We are trying to cover as many as we can around Europe which involves a few extreme day trips.

“Then we plan to venture further afield.

“Unfortunately with so many closing down it means we will miss out on some.”
