The argument between the two men took place in the common courtyard shared between Beghetto, 53, and Biffi’s mum, who lives on the floor above.
Beghetto was also reportedly struck by a brick in the attack in Esino Lario near Lake Como, Italy.

What caused the row is still unclear, but local media say there had been a prolonged conflict between the two men due to “neighbourhood issues.”
Beghetto was primarily an electrician but was also a municipal councillor and volunteered in a local wildfire prevention group.
He had also turned his passion for beekeeping into a business where he produced honey with his eldest son.
He had helped Biffi, 62, financially by giving him occasional work in his beekeeping company.
Beghetto was originally from Milan and leaves behind a wife, with whom he had just celebrated 25 years of marriage, and two sons, aged 17 and 20.

The family lives in Usmate con Velate, but Beghetto had his second home and his beekeeping business in Esino Lario, where the crime took place.
He was elected as a councillor in Esino Lario in 2020.People who knew him say he “wasn’t the type” to have been involved in altercations, according to local media, as reported on Need to Know.
Esino Lario mayor Pietro Pensa said about Beghetto’s passing: “It’s an immeasurable loss for the family, friends, and the entire community.
“Pierluigi was an exceptional person, kind, and always there for everyone.”
The investigation continues.
