She then plunged into the disused well she didn’t even know was there.
The pensioner hollered for help from the bottom of the hole and neighbours heard her cries.
The emergency services were called to Matilde’s home in La Plata near Buenos Aires in Argentina at around midday on Sunday (28 Apr).
When the rescue team arrived, the elderly woman was lucid and able to follow their instructions.
Footage shows the moment rescuers strap Matilde into a harness before lifting her out of the deep hole.
She was taken to the Hospital Dr. Alejandro Korn in the town of Melchor Romero with multiple injuries.
According to a hospital spokesperson, the OAP dislocated her right shoulder and suffered an injury to her hip, but isn’t in a life threatening situation.
Due to her age, medics will continue to monitor her recovery, as reported by Need To Know.
