A couple was left devastated after their pup was allegedly returned dead in a plastic bag after being taken for a doggie spa.
Jeisson Fandiño and Jose Aldana said their beloved chihuahua Merlin was more than just a pet to them.
He was also a Red Cross-certified emotional support animal for the couple.

They took their one-year-old pooch to a local vet for a routine bath and spruce up.
However, around 50 minutes after dropping him off, they received a devastating phone call.
They were informed that Merlin’s bather had allegedly accidentally left the door open and let him out.
The small pooch was then hit by a passing vehicle, according to the couple.
Fandiño claimed: “When it was time to pick him up, they gave him to us dead in a bag.
“They said he was let out due to the negligence of the person who bathed him.”
He added: “The person who let him out is already receiving psychological support.”
A spokesperson for the clinic, based in the Colombian capital Bogotá, said: “In 28 years of work, what has just happened at Animal’s on 73rd Street has never happened to us.
“Our heart is destroyed as a company because we always take care of those who have no voice.
“We deeply feel the special bond we form with our furry friends, and we experience this pain as our own.
“As a company, we are working second by second to compensate the owners for the pain caused.
“Animal’s is committed to providing the necessary support throughout this whole process.”
The couple has called on their followers to not direct any hate towards the clinic, as reported by Need to Know.
However, they insist they want to see changes in the company’s security measures.
