A mum has told of her shocking experience on a ferris wheel after she allegedly realised the door was “open” while riding the attraction with her son.
Chloé Hennessey took her two-year-old, Wolf, on the ‘City Wheel’ while at Adventure Island – a theme park in Southend-on-Sea last weekend (12 May).
With the pair high up in the sky, her boy spotted the issue first, telling his mum the carriage appeared open.

In a video, shared on 14 May, the 29-year-old mum can be heard gasping – before acting quickly to make sure her son doesn’t fall out.
Chloé spent around 15 minutes on the ride and claims she had no choice but to hold the door closed as the wheel reached a height of 36 feet.
“My heart literally dropped and I instantly felt sick to my stomach, and filled with anxiety and fear,” the mum, from London, UK, told Need To Know.
“I tried to remain as calm as I could for Wolf, otherwise it could’ve been a lot worse.”
When the wheel finally descended, Chloé was able to grab the attention of the park’s staff members.
She claims that, after she showed them that the door was not properly closed, they rushed over to let her and Wolf off the ride.
Chloé said: “They could see I was shaking and had been crying.
“Staff advised me to report it to the customer service desk, which I did.”
The mum claims she was told they “can’t do anything about it” and asked her to email a formal complaint to start an investigation “where they will check CCTV etc”.
She has since taken to TikTok to share her experience, with the video getting over half a million views so far.
In the clip, she describes the event as “one of the scariest days of my life, saying she has “nightmares like this”.
Viewers have been left shocked.
One viewer said: “You poor things!!! Did you complain to the place? That is shocking. I’m so glad you’re both okay.”
Someone else added: “I felt that gasp honestly I’ve only ever been on once and it terrified me.”
Another person said: “Omg what a good little boy thank god!”
“I feel sick just watching this. I hope you’re okay that must’ve been terrifying,” wrote someone else.
