A group of Good Samaritans have been hailed for making a citizen’s arrest after a man allegedly tried to stab one of them in the street.
Two of the men were office workers dressed in smart shirts and trousers.
They were branded “brave” and “heroes” for their quick-thinking.

They managed to pin the alleged knifeman to the ground while waiting for cops to arrive.
A bag next to where he lay on the ground contained a huge knife with a red blade.
What appears to be a second one with a yellow blade was also inside.
The horror happened in Great Sutton Street, Farringdon, east London yesterday (22 May) afternoon.
A member of the public filmed the aftermath on their mobile phone in a 43-second video, as reported on Need To Know.
One of the alleged victims claimed to the man: “You try stabbing me yeah?
“Do you wanna try stabbing me now you little mug.”
The alleged knifeman replied: “No, no.”
One of the group said “Don’t hit him mate.
“It’s not worth hitting him.”
But one of the alleged victims claimed: “What do you mean? He just tried to stab us.
“Stay there you c*nt, stay there.
“You wanna try stabbing us, yeah?”
The video panned around to show the bag nearby.
One of the men added: “F*cking mug.”
An onlooker said: “You alright though yeah?”
To which one of the alleged victims says: “I’m alright.”
Another man then claims: “You can’t walk round stabbing people, you f*cking idiot.”
Local Christina Douglas said: “Well done to the brave lads.”
Mazi added: “Not all heroes wear capes.
“Kudos to those who held him down.”
A third added: “Finally the streets are making a comeback.
“Justice will be served best by members of the public.”
Another said: “How they remained so reserved is beyond comprehension.”
The Met Police has been approached for comment.
