A British biscuit fan got quite a surprise when he opened a pack of Jammie Dodgers and found it missing the jam.
Michael Fosker, an office worker from Tooting, southwest London, had picked up the biscuits from his local Tesco for an afternoon snack.
But back at work, the 46-year-old was puzzled to find that the top biscuit in the pack was completely jam-less.

Not one to keep the discovery to himself, Michael posted about it on X (formerly Twitter), sharing a picture of the biscuit without any trace of the familiar red jam. His caption read,
“When you buy some @?jammiedodgers from @?Tesco for a lil treat and there is no jam in one. @?AldiUK would never.”

Michael shared, “I was really looking forward to enjoying a classic Jammie Dodger, which I’ve loved since I was a kid.
But it seems my biscuit decided to play hide and seek with the jam! I think I’ll get over this… eventually.”
Social media users quickly chimed in with jokes and comments. Lydia said, “Well it deffo was a jammy dodger then coz it dodged the jam.”

David added, “I’ve seen a few first-world problems in my time, but this one, well, takes the biscuit.” Another commenter, Andrew, quipped, “Without jam, is it just Dodger?”
while someone else wrote, “The jam dodged the biscuit.”

Fox’s Burton’s, the company behind Jammie Dodgers, apologized for the mix-up, calling it an “unfortunate mishap.”
They explained that the error happened when they were updating their production line and changing the jam recipe, which led to a batch of biscuits missing their jam filling.
To make things right, Michael will receive a new pack of Jammie Dodgers with the updated, fruitier jam.
Russell Smith from Jammie Dodgers said, “We’re really sorry to Michael for the Jammie-less experience.
This was due to a production mishap as we were improving our jam recipe, which is now even fruitier. We always aim to give customers the stickiest, jammiest splat in our shortcake sandwiches because a Jammie Dodger without jam is just a Dodger. This time, it seems the jam has truly dodged.”
The new and fruitier raspberry Jammie Dodgers are now rolling out in stores nationwide.

You can share your reactions to the news with Jammie Dodgers on their X channel, @JammieDodgers.
