Serbia, in Group C along with England, were knocked out after finishing bottom.
Some of their fans were topless, while others were clad in their football shirts and draped in their national flag.
But as officers moved in to make an arrest, the mob turned on the cops.
Beer bottles were hurled at them in the shocking clashes in the picturesque Marienplatz.

Pints were seen on the tables in the street after they’d been boozing in the pretty square before kick-off.
They’d been drinking outside a bar sandwiched between two mobile phone shops.
England fan, Alan Sawyer fumed: “Serbia thugs.”
One West Ham follower, called Ashley, joked: “But the England fans sang a song about the war.”
Another added: “Clowns go home.”
Chris said: “Forever throwing bottles.”
It comes after a video emerged last Thursday (21 Jun) of Serbia fans pushing a man off a train, also in Munich.
The clash happened before their 1-1 draw with Slovenia, as reported by Need To Know.
England beat Serbia 1-0 on Sunday (16 Jun) — their opening match.
There were eight arrests after clashes between rival supporters in Gelsenkirchen.
