A man told the police “he didn’t want to make his parents suffer anymore” after allegedly torturing the two to death.
After 16 hours of questioning, Luca Ricci reportedly admitted to killing his parents in their house.
He reportedly stunned his interrogators when he claimed he had done it to “prevent” the pair “from further suffering.”

Investigators say the evidence contradicts the purported motive.
They believe Luca, 50, strangled his mother from behind with a phone charger wire in the kitchen.
Then, he allegedly went to the bedroom and began striking his father in the head with a hammer as he slept.
Giuseppe Ricci woke up and likely spent several minutes in agony before dying from at least 11 blows.
The police say the injuries to his arms and hands were likely sustained as the 75-year-old tried to defend himself.
Investigators say the crime on Monday (24 Jun) may have been money-related.
The parents had sold their house after Luca’s business failed and he failed to pay his debts.
They had continued living there by renting the property in Fano, Italy, for a considerable sum.
The horror began after Luisa Marconi called her son downstairs in the early hours, as reported on Need To Know.
The 70-year-old asked him to check her blood pressure because she was feeling unwell.
Father-of-two Luca lived on the first floor with his 17-year-old son, who was allegedly fast asleep at the time.
Luca is currently being held in prison on remand in nearby Pesaro.
He is charged with two counts of voluntary manslaughter with cruelty as an aggravating factor.
The real motive remains unclear.
However, the evidence suggests he constantly asked his parents for money.
The police say that when they first arrived on the scene, the house was in disarray, suggesting that Luca had been searching for something.
