Denis, 50 – a local celebrity – sustained severe head trauma in the crash.
Emergency medics revived him several times, but he died en route to hospital.
The crash happened on the GO-430 highway in Formosa, on the outskirts of Braslia, Brazil.
A girl and a woman were also in the car and were injured.
The girl, six, escaped with just a cut on her mouth, as reported on Need To Know.
The woman, 47, was left with minor cuts and scrapes.
The authorities did not disclose their relationship to the victim, who was local to Formosa.
Denis was widely known as “Denis Gigante”, which translates to “Denis the Giant”.
He was a familiar face on local TV from the 1990s onwards.
In one TV appearance, he had told of his struggle in getting a driver’s licence.
This was because he had to get special authorisation to use his own, modified car for his test.
He had extended the driver’s seat adjuster tracks by 10 cm (4 in) so he could fit inside.
It was the very same vehicle he crashed on Wednesday (10 Jul) morning.
What led Denis to lose control of the car is under investigation.
