Do you want to travel on a budget? Maybe you want to make sure that you are never spending more than you have on flights and your hotel. Either way, if this sounds like you, then the only thing you have to do is take a look below.

Booking a Flight on the Best Day

The first thing you need to do is try and book a flight on the best day possible. When booking a flight, you have to remember that the best day to book would be a Wednesday. Flights that take off on Tuesday tend to be the cheapest too. There are other ways for you to cut money here too. One thing you can do would be to book tickets in advance. If you book at the last minute then you will soon find that you can access way more deals. If you are like most people and you have been searching for flights for quite some time then you may notice some price increases. This can make it difficult for you to get a good deal. If you want to do something about this then simply put your phone in incognito mode. When you do, you will then be able to see what deals are available so you can feel confident knowing that you are not paying more than you should for things.

Think about Accommodation

You also need to give some thought to your accommodation. If you are backpacking on a shoestring budget then you may find that the hostel is the cheapest way to go. You can then compare different ones on a comparison site. It’s always a good idea for you to look further afield than on the actual website though, as you may find that you’re not getting the whole picture. If you notice that the hostel has a good amount of reviews on Google then there is a good chance that you can get a solid deal from there. Additionally, you may find that it only costs you a little bit more to get a cheap hotel somewhere. Hotels are way more comfortable for you to stay in so you may want to give this some thought. Hostels often charge for things like towels and lockers too, so you need to keep this in mind if you can.

Exploring the Freedom of Travel

For true budget travel freedom, consider converting a van into a motorhome. Having your own mobile accommodation means you can cut out both flight and hotel costs entirely. With the flexibility to park at campgrounds, scenic spots, or even free overnight stops, your travel itinerary is only limited by your imagination. This option allows you to explore off-the-beaten-path locations without the need to stick to rigid booking schedules. Simple van upgrades like a compact kitchenette, foldable bed, and solar panels can make long-term travel more comfortable and self-sufficient while saving you from daily expenses on food and lodging.

Currency Exchange

When you go abroad, you also need to take into account things like currency exchange.  If you want to transfer euros to pounds then you may be able to get a better deal online than you would going to a store too. Things like this can make a major difference as it has a direct influence on the amount of money you have to spend to get the vacation you want. If you can, try and convert your currency when you know the rates are good too. If you do it too late or too early then you will be missing out on a lot of money, which is the last thing you need.
