A shoplifter wrestled with a security guard after trying to steal a four pack of beer from a petrol station…and lost his coat in the process.
The crook was nabbed next to the fridges containing alcohol in the Marks and Spencer shop of the BP garage.
The hero guard grabbed hold of him and shouted: “Put it back, put it back.

“Put it down, put it down.”
The thief – clad in khaki shorts and a chequered shirt and blue jacket – said: “Let me go, let me go.”
The guard replied: “No.”
An onlooker screamed: “Oh no” as the shoplifter tumbled into one of the chilled aisle shelves.
He dropped the box of beer on the ground but managed to scoop it up.
But the brave guard – in a blue tabard – pulled off his jacket as he squirmed free.
The coatless crook said: “Thank you, thank you” as he fled on foot with the cans of beer.
It happened at the BP garage on the A312 in Northolt yesterday (21 Jul) morning, as reported on Need To Know.
A customer filmed the theft on their mobile phone in a 48-second video.
Local Rich Hoy joked: “Your jacket for a four-pack of dented beer is an awful trade.
“1-0 security guard”
Lance added: “All that for four beers.”
Another said: “That beer is gonna fizz right up in his face when he opens it.”
Andy Horn said: “Good effort from the security guard.”
Nick Stern added: “Good for him.
“Did his very best.”
Dave added: “First security guy I saw trying to stop the thief
“He did a good job to be fair.”
