Six individuals, comprising four adults and two children, have tragically lost their lives in a collision between Wakefield and Barnsley.
The incident, which involved a car and a motorcycle, took place on the A61 Barnsley Road on Sunday afternoon.
Both the motorcyclist and their passenger, a man and a woman, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Similarly, a man, a woman, and two young girls who were in the car also succumbed to their injuries on the spot.
Emergency responders were alerted to the crash, involving a Ford Focus and a motorbike, shortly before 4 p.m. on Sunday.
According to West Yorkshire Police, the road has been closed between Shaw Lane and Warren Lane and is expected to remain shut for an extended period as the investigation proceeds.
Superintendent Alan Travis of the Wakefield District Police commented: “This is an absolutely tragic incident which has resulted in the loss of six lives.”
West Yorkshire Police have issued an appeal for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.
