A cowboy has drowned after his horse bolted into a river.
The 53-year-old farm worker was riding alongside a colleague when the nag was suddenly spooked and fled.
The animal bolted over an embankment and ended up in the river yesterday (1 August).

The rider’s colleague tried to rescue him in the water, but the man and his steed were soon swept away by the currents.
Civil Protection officials arrived at the scene and found the animal’s body first.
Using boats, they soon recovered the body of the drowned rider, whose name has not been disclosed.
The tragic incident took place in Santa Bárbara de la Cueva in Querétaro State, located northwest of the Mexican capital, Mexico City.
The man’s corpse will undergo an autopsy to establish his exact cause of death and rule out the involvement of any third parties, as reported by Need To Know.
The local authorities asked residents to take extra care when entering bodies of water during the rainy season.
The investigation into the cowboy’s death is ongoing.
