A career crook with 148 convictions who avoided prison for 20 years because she was “always pregnant” has finally been jailed.

After her arrest, in a Roma encampment south of Rome, Italy, she was sent to prison to begin a 30-year sentence.

The 31-year-old mum of 10 has a whopping 148 convictions.
The vast bulk are for theft and the remainder are for resisting arrest, according to local media.
She and her accomplices targeted locals and tourists in Rome and Milan.
But every time she was caught, she was released immediately and never went to jail because nearly every time she was caught she was pregnant.
She wasn’t pregnant on 22 June, when she was caught with an accomplice after stealing from a tourist in Rome.

But she still managed to avoid custody because her youngest child was one month old at the time.
Nor was she pregnant at the time of her first brush with the law in Rome on 1 September 2000.
She was just seven then and was caught stealing from a clothing store.
The 30 years she must spend behind bars are the sum of the sentences she’s been handed for 148 crimes over a 20-year ‘career’.
Zahirovic is a Bosnian Roma born in Zagreb, Croatia, in 1993, as reported by Need To Know.

By 2006, aged 13, she had already committed 30 offences in Rome.
The following year, she began loitering around train stations.
She was first caught pickpocketing at the Italian capital’s Termini Station – her preferred hunting ground – in 2008.
She moved to Milan aged 21 and back to Rome in 2023.
She has reportedly told her lawyers to apply for a deferral because her youngest daughter is just three months old.
