A cosmetic tourist has died after undergoing plastic surgery in Turkey.
Perla Virginia Baez Garay, 42, fell ill and passed away hours after undergoing several procedures at a private clinic in ÅžiÅŸli, Istanbul.
Ms Baez travelled to Turkey from her home in the Spanish capital Madrid to undergo the ops on 5 August.

She reportedly suffered acute respiratory distress syndrome at the private hospital where she was being kept for observation.

Ms Baez, who was originally from Paraguay, was taken to the intensive care unit, but passed away shortly afterwards.
The authorities have yet to release the results of an autopsy.
Her body was handed over to her family and consulate officials to be sent back to Spain for burial, as reported by Need To Know.

The surgeon in question was reportedly arrested for negligent homicide shortly after her Ms Baez’s death, but has since been released on bail as the investigation continues.
Ms Baez, who worked as a hairdresser, leaves behind two children aged 12 and eight.
Istanbul has become a hotspot for cosmetic and medical tourism in recent years, offering a wide range of services from hair transplants to IVF procedures.
