Suddenly, an SUV comes hurtling down the road and makes a sharp right turn onto the pavement.
Luckily, there’s an open gate next to the girl and she darts inside.
She runs across the patio a split-second before the vehicle smashes into the corner of the building.
Smoke suddenly fills the air and the SUV is left with a huge dent in its bonnet.
The mother, who can’t see her daughter has saved herself, starts jumping up and down in distress.
The near-miss happened in Isla de Maipo near Santiago, Chile, on Friday (13 Sept) night, as reported by Need To Know.
The elderly man was behind the wheel of the car and was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
He was arrested, taken into custody, and his driving licence was confiscated pending a 90-day investigation.
According to police officer Carlos Pérez, the driver swerved after crashing into three cars parked on the roadside.
He explained: “When she saw the vehicle coming towards her, she quickly ran into the Red Cross building and avoided being hit.”
