A quick-thinking soldier cheated death by tossing his rucksack at suicide drone.
The serviceman blew it up before it could do the same to him.
Footage shows the drone flying low over a war-scarred field.
It whizzes past the soldier and a stationary military vehicle.
As it flies close to another soldier, it makes a turn and zooms towards him.
Before it can fly into him, he removes his rucksack and tosses it at the UAV.
A huge, fiery blast erupts a whisker away from him.
The soldier is seen crawling away, picking himself up, and running off as smoke rises into the air.
A second piece of footage filmed by the drone’s camera shows the moment when the soldier launched his bag.
The footage ends a split-second later, at the moment of impact.
It happened in Ukraine yesterday (18 Sept), as reported on Need To Know.
One local: “I think he probably wants to set the explosion off away from him.
“Or break the motor or wing so it can’t close the distance and blow him up.
“He doesn’t take it out when he hits it, the explosion is slightly after.
“Whoever was behind the drone probably saw the contact and set it off when it was deemed close enough.”
