As it made a sharp turn, a wave of frothy water surged into the air.
When the water calmed down, the jet ski was visible, but its rider was not.
He was reportedly performing a “drifting” stunt when he fell into the water in Hechuan, Chongqing, China.
After vanishing, a search and rescue operation was launched, as reported by Need To Know.
The victim’s body was reportedly retrieved six hours later, around 2am the next morning (23 Sept).
A Dongjin Bay Water Park spokesperson told local media: “At the time, he borrowed someone else’s jet ski to show off his skills, but an accident occurred unexpectedly.
“Around 6pm, his friends were calling him to leave for dinner, but he was really into extreme sports.
“When he saw more people gathering on the shore, he got unusually excited and decided to show off on the jet ski.
“Who would’ve thought he wouldn’t come back?”
The waterpark has since been closed for inspection.
