A TV presenter has revealed that she’s battling throat cancer.
Paulina Mercado, 52, said the hardest thing was telling her children about her devastating diagnosis.
The Mexican TV star, who co-presents the morning show ‘Sale El Sol’ on Imagen Televisión, said she learned of her cancer diagnosis last month.

On the TV Show, Mercado said she went to the doctors for a routine check-up when a malignant tumour of “considerable size” was found in her throat.

She underwent an operation to remove the tumour yesterday (30 Sept).
Mercado, whose partner is Argentine-Mexican actor, Juan Soler, 58, said: “I believe that our scars are a map of our life.
“This mark will remind me where I need to go and that I should live in the here and now.”
Mercado, who had a benign brain tumour removed in 2022, admitted that she was worried about telling her children, as reported by Need To Know.

She said: “I was terrified of saying the word ‘cancer’, but I have already started therapy and meditation.
“What worried me the most was telling my children.
“I prepared my speech, I meditated, I did breathing exercises, and then they came home and I told them.

“They looked at me and asked why I was laughing.
“My children are having a hard time understanding why I’m so calm.
“I understand what they’re going through.”
She added: “I am just embracing the process, I have no other choice.”
