Three fishermen survived 24 hours adrift in the rough sea after Hurricane Nadine caused their boat to sink.

Astonishing footage shows the moment a vessel finally reached the hardy seamen as huge waves raged around them.

Their boat, the San Crisanto 10, sank after being battered by howling winds and powerful waves.

They were left clinging onto plastic drums as they were dragged across the vast sea.

Tragically, there were originally five men on board.

The two men unaccounted for remain missing, as reported by Need To Know.

The Propemex 14 vessel reached them on Saturday (20 Oct) in the Gulf of Mexico off Costa Esmeralda, Mexico.

In the footage of their rescue, one man can be heard saying: “The boat went down!”

The person filming can be heard calling out: “Hold on!” and “Stay calm!”

Eventually a rubber ring is thrown to the stricken men.

Relatives of those missing are urging the authorities to continue searching for them.

Hurricane Milton struck the region little over a week before Nadine’s arrival.

Four vessels went missing after Milton ripped through the Yucatán Peninsula.

The authorities reported on 11 October that the last missing vessel had been found, but with no one on board.

Of the other three, two returned to port with their crews safe, while the third was found capsized with no signs of life.
