A surfing champion has flown to Spain in a bid to get life-changing eye surgery for her son.
Alana Blanchard is best known for being a professional, and champion, surfer.
The 34-year-old, from Hawaii, shares two sons, Banks and Koda, with her husband, Jack.

And when she’s not tackling big waves, her focus is solely on family.
Including giving her kids the best start in life, with her youngest undergoing life-changing eye surgery in Malaga, Spain, reports Need To Know.
In a clip, which has racked up over 982,000 views and 33,000 likes, she reveals the brave journey.
Koda, aged three, was born with an eye condition known as ptosis.
This causes the upper eyelid to droop over the eye, so much so that it often covers the pupil; blocking normal vision.
She begins by showing pictures and videos of his “droopy” eyes.
Alana says they had visited a few doctors, but was told there was “nothing” they could do.
Luckily, they found a specialist and flew “across the world” to get corrective surgery with Dr Ramon Medel Jimenez.
While it was difficult seeing him going into surgery, with emotions high, it was all worth it.
Alana shows other clips including him after the procedure wearing bandages over his eyes – and then the big moment when they came off the next day.
Despite slight swelling, the mum-of-two then revealed the final result, where his eyes are open wide.
Users have flocked to the comments to share their reactions, with many people leaving well wishes for the tot.
“So glad he is healing,” said Hollan.
Amie added: “What a wonderful result. It’s the double lollies for me bless him, happy recovery little one.”
“Thank you, Alana, for trusting in my hands. The greatest satisfaction in our work is seeing families happy after undergoing surgery,” Dr Ramon said.
Bella commented: “The bravest little man.”
“This is so beautiful. Amazing family. So full of love. Koda has been so brave. Love and miss you all so much,” Katy added.
Alana, who was taught how to surf by her dad aged only four, also shared other videos from their travels.
In another clip, she and her family are shown outside the picturesque mountains of Switzerland as they cuddle and kiss each other, with the caption: “Love my little family so much.”
Other snaps include pictures of their time exploring the country, and Malaga, such as walking down the high street and visiting churches.
