Beth Broderick has revealed her craziest stories while filming Sabrina the Teenage Witch – including a run in with an alligator – ahead of the show’s 28th anniversary.
The actress is best known for portraying Zelda Spellman – one of Sabrina’s aunts – on the sitcom.
She appeared alongside Melissa Joan Hart and Caroline Rhea, focusing on the journey of a 16-year-old who had just discovered she is a witch.
Now, the seven season show is about to celebrate its 28th anniversary on the 23 November, reports Need To Know.
Speaking to PEOPLE, the 65-year-old has revealed the craziest moments on set; including almost being bit by an alligator.

She said: “The people didn’t think the alligator was moving enough, and it didn’t look real enough.
“It was very real, and so they started poking it, and it got mad and it whipped around and missed me by an inch and bit the sofa and wouldn’t let go.
“I was like okay, that could be my leg.
“Okay, let’s not poke the alligator anymore.”
But that’s not the only bizarre incident that occurred while filming.
Another time, a lion walked through an electric fence – but her favourite story? When a chicken was fitted for a tuxedo.
She said: “I was walking from my trailer to the set one day and I hear this crazy commotion in the costume room.
“I look in, and our costumer Diane is trying to measure a chicken for a tuxedo, and that chicken did not want to wear a tuxedo.

“It was just the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. And I just thought to myself, who else goes to work and sees that?
“I mean, that is kind of a singular experience.
“And it ended up wearing that tuxedo, it did it.
“But I don’t think he liked it.”
Broderick explained that due to the lack of CGI, moments like this were pretty common on set.
She added: “It was a wild show. You had to shoot everything in real time and practical effects and stuff.

“It was quite an experience and one you can never forget.”
The actress is also known for her roles as Diane Janssen in the drama series, Lost, and as Rose Twitchell in Under the Dome.
For Christmas, she’s joined forces once again with her Sabrina the Teenage Witch co-star, Caroline Rhea, for a Hallmark special called Holiday Mismatch.
