But one man was seen taking it all in his stride in Malaga.
In the clip, the elderly fella is seen sitting at a table outside a bar with a bottle of beer and an ashtray in front of him.
Meanwhile, floodwater gushes down the street and under his feet, apparently splashing his lower legs.
At one point, he snaps out of his daydream to cast a look at the flooded street, apparently in annoyance for disturbing his evening beer.
One local joked that he was just “solving his problems.”

In another strange scene, a man was spotted kayaking on a flooded street, also in Malaga.
The clip shows the young fella chilling in his dinghy in a flooded part of the road.
He appears to hold up two bottles of booze as several neighbours call out to him.
One local said: “He’s the village idiot.”

Red Alerts for extreme weather have been issued throughout Spain this week.
Some areas of the Costa del Sol, which includes popular tourist destinations like Marbella, saw up to 7.1 inches of rain in just a few short hours on Wednesday (Nov 13).
The storm wreaked havoc at the Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport where multiple flights were diverted or delayed.
The national meteorology agency Aemet placed nine regions on alert for severe weather caused by the new Dana storm, as reported by Need To Know.
Dana, also called a cold drop, is a meteorological phenomenon that takes place in the Mediterranean region, particularly between June and November.
This phenomenon, which occurs when cold air combines with humid air in the upper atmosphere, is associated with extremely violent downpours and storms.
