Meanwhile, an employee is seen scaling a ladder to try to reach the minor’s lofty location.
Onlookers scream in shock as the ride’s operator starts to spin the wheel to bring her back to ground level.
The girl apparently holds on tight while dangling upside down on the rotating structure.
A worker is seen helping the child off the ride when it reaches its lowest point.
The crowd’s gasps turn to excited chatter as the teen is carried to safety.
The dramatic scenes unfolded at a fair in the girl’s home village of Rakehti in Uttar Pradesh State, India, located close to the border with Nepal.
According to reports, the girl fell from the pod she was seated in due to a sudden jolt on the ride.
She found herself dangling around 60 feet from the ground, screaming for help as she held on for dear life on Wednesday (4 December).
Sub-District Magistrate, Rajiv Nigam, confirmed that the teen was unharmed.
The authorities also revealed that the operators of the Ferris wheel did not have the required permits.
An investigation has been launched to determine how the ride was allowed to operate without the required permission.
The incident follows a similar occurrence in Uttar Pradesh last month when a teenager’s hair became tangled in a Ferris wheel’s rods, ripping off her scalp, as reported by Need To Know.
