A police officer dressed up as the Grinch was filmed punching a reveller at a parade.
He became agitated after a drunken man started harassing and teasing a cop colleague.
In a video caught by an onlooker, the man can be seen running up behind the officer, triggering him to retaliate.

The sergeant charges at the man throwing several punches as the man just stands there.
Before he even has the chance to fight back, he is jabbed once again causing him to fall to the ground.
The police officer stands over him and it appears that the violent situation came to a stop.
Many people witnessed the fight, as people lined both sides of the street where the parade took place.
Shouting and screaming, and the cries of children can be heard in the video.
In the background of the clip, a woman dressed as an elf can be seen jumping from a vehicle in the road to run to the scene to help.
The parade took place in La Pintana, Chile, and is known as ‘Caravana Navideña MICC’ which translates to ‘Christmas Caravan’.
Around 200 people were in attendance at the event, as reported by Need To Know.
Both of the officials were sitting aboard a pick-up truck when the altercation was triggered, after the man decided to harass one of them.
The officers belong to the Carabineros, which is the Chilean national law enforcement.
Around ten people who were at the scene were able to remove the police officer after the incident.
The man who was subjected to the assault was taken to a hospital where he was treated for a dental injury and minor injuries to his lower back.
