A crook got a taste of instant karma when he tried to rob a woman and got battered by locals.
CCTV footage shows the culprit chasing the woman down the street and grabbing her from behind.
He floors her as he tries to prise the bag from her hands.

During the struggle, he drags her into the middle of the road.
He places his foot on her stomach in a bid to rip the handbag from her grip.
Just as he manages to take it off her, a local resident sprints into view and grabs him.
He starts clobbering him across the head with his free hand.
The woman picks herself up as the have-a-go hero floors the crook.
He continues punching him over and over as other men run towards the scene.
They help hold the culprit down and they continue roughing him up as the footage ends.
The suspect had arrived at the scene in Billinghurst in Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina, on the pillion of a motorcycle.
His getaway rider was waiting on the bike as he tried to rob the woman last Tuesday (10 Dec) afternoon.
The man who saved the day was alerted to the situation by the woman’s screams as she struggled with the crook.
The accomplice fled the scene on the bike, as reported by Need To Know.
The would-be mugger was held down until the police arrived and arrested him.
Detectives are now reviewing CCTV footage in a bid to identify his partner-in-crime.
