A Tesco worker has been hailed for kicking a shoplifter in the backside as he fled with a bottle of wine.
The crook in a hooded checkered jacket swiped the plonk from the shelves.
A fellow shoplifter – clad in a green coat and white joggers – was seen carrying an armful of five bottles.

A security guard in a hi-viz vest stood near them with two supermarket employees but they didn’t intervene.
The pair then walked briskly towards the exit.
An announcement in the supermarket on Kilburn High Rd, Kilburn, north London at the time said: “Thank you for shopping at Tesco.”

But as they left, the brave worker – in the supermarket giant’s blue uniform – whipped out his phone to record them.
As the checkered jacket thief walked out, the hero worker booted his bottom.
It caused him to flinch and the employee pointed at him and shouted “You.”
The 11-second video filmed by a stunned shopper then came to an end.
Locals praised the Tesco worker, as reported by Need To Know.
Kelly said: “Well done that man.”

Yusuf added: “That kick.”
A third said: “A kick in the a*se on the way out.”
Another said: “Licked the thief in the bum and proceeded to say ‘see you later mate’.”
Calvin McDonald added: “I spent a lot of time in Kilburn growing up.
“Its always been a strange place.
“Anyway, I’d take it upon myself to grab one of these toerags, get him to put it back on the shelf and apologise to the staff.
“If he was genuine, I’d let him go, if not, the police can cart him off to the nick.”
But Charlie Howarth said: “Totally useless security guard.

“At least try to stop them from getting out.”
Tesco and the Met Police have been approached for comment.
