The lion was also seen attempting to break into a house through a window while a man carrying a handcart filled with items looked on in Harbanspura town, Lahore, Pakistan.
According to initial inquiries, the pet lion was kept by a resident of Shalimar Housing Society, as reported by Need To Know.
The terrifying situation was resolved when security officers were forced to shoot the lion after multiple attempts to capture it failed.
The trend of wealthy individuals owning large cats as pets appears to be on the rise in Pakistan despite the risks involved.
The incident comes in the wake of YouTuber Rajab Butt’s recent imprisonment for illegally housing a lion cub without proper authorization and brandishing firearms in public.
Following allegations of illegal possession of wildlife and public display of firearms, a joint operation was conducted by police and the Wildlife Department at Rajab’s residence in the Chung neighbourhood of Lahore.
The lion cub, which was reportedly gifted to Rajab on his wedding day, was confiscated during the raid.
