An influencer who was invited on a lunch date by a handsome man was stunned to discover it was a family affair.
Débora Porto, a body-positive content creator with over two million followers on Instagram, is known for sharing intimate details of her life online.
The 35-year-old has hit headlines in the past for speaking about her so-called ‘Baby Food Diet’ and opening up about struggling to embrace her body.

But her latest anecdote is quite the curveball.
After being asked out on a date by a guy at the gym, Débora says she spent their first lunch date meeting his entire family – at his mum’s house.
“We met while working out on machines close to each other,” Débora told Need To Know.

“We ended up casually chatting about workouts and it was clear we had a connection.
“He took my number and a few days later he invited me over for lunch.
“It seemed like a fun but casual thing.
“I was excited but also a little nervous because I didn’t know exactly what to expect.
“I didn’t think it would be anything formal.”
However, after arriving at the address, Débora, from Brazil, discovered they weren’t alone.

She said: “I discovered it was lunch… but at his mum’s house, with the whole family gathered.
“I was very uncomfortable because I wasn’t prepared for this kind of situation.”
She added that while she tried to remain composed, she was “unsure of how to act” under so many watchful eyes.
She said: “I was truly speechless.

“It’s not every day you go on a date and end up in the middle of a family reunion.
“I stayed for lunch and I tried to keep my composure, even though everyone was looking at me with curiosity.
“It was a bit tense, but I tried not to show it.
“I kept asking myself what was going on and how I should react.”
Débora ended up staying for a few hours.

She added: “I can’t say I fully enjoyed it.
“It was hard to relax with so many eyes on me.
“In the end, I thanked them for their hospitality and was polite, but I was relieved to leave.
“I spoke to my date as I was leaving.

“He apologised for not warning me beforehand, and I explained that I’d prefer to know in advance to avoid discomfort.
“Today, I see it as an unusual experience and something that taught me to always ask for more details before accepting invitations!”
