A pensioner tragically drowned after jumping into a river to escape bees attacking him.
Cecilio Lagares López was surrounded by a swarm.
The 70-year-old thought the only way to escape the African bees was to leap into the water.

But an intensive search operation to locate his whereabouts was launched after he vanished.
Less than 24 hours after the attack, his body appeared in water after being dragged south of where he initially jumped in.
Several other locals were forced to flee the bee attack in El Banco, north of Bogota, Colombia.
In one shocking clip, they could be heard screaming as the winged insects targeted them.
Others could be seen trying to move away from the area quickly, shielding their heads using clothing.
One man is even seen waving around his arms, visibility trying to desperately waft away the bees.
Whilst most managed to seek refuge, several others were left needing medical treatment, as reported by Need To Know.
Yet one is still being treated in the ICU at La Candelaria Hospital.

Nine people were treated before being discharged.
The attack happened last Thursday (30 Jan).
African bees are known for their aggressive behaviour, and even have the nickname of ‘killer bees’, according to the Natural History Museum.
