A dolphin has died after performing a show stunt in front of horrified guests.
The incident is alleged to have taken place at Barceló Maya Grand Resort in Riviera Maya.
A video capturing the shocking moment has since gone viral online with over 433,000 views.

Social media users have slammed the hotel for the “gut-wrenching” stunt.
Meanwhile, the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection in Mexico has also opened an investigation into the incident, as reported by Need To Know.
In the video, three dolphins can be seen diving in a pool of water.
Seconds later, one of them jumps in the air and hits the deck.
The crowd can be heard crying as someone shouts ‘Oh, no!’.
A trainer rushes over to check on the lifeless dolphin, while the other two mammals swim up to their injured friend.
Local media has confirmed that the dolphin died from its injuries, with the incident taking place on 24 January.
Appalled social media users have shared their thoughts.
Phil said: “Gut-wrenching. Disturbing. I’m sick with anger. SHUT IT DOWN!”

Someone else wrote: “Please don’t support animals in captivity.”
Ariele commented: “The way the other dolphins rushed over to help. What is wrong with humanity.”
Bailey added: “Performing animals is animal cruelty. This is exactly why!”
Sammi said: “This broke my heart and flipped my stomach upside down. My heart hurts for the loss of this baby.”
