A dog owner has been left heartbroken after discovering that their beloved pet dog had been eaten by road workers.
He was devastated after losing his pet pooch, which he had fostered from a local pet care centre.
After hearing the sounds of firecrackers, the dog, named Wu Yiyi, became spooked and ran off.

Its owner offered a £5,500 reward to anybody who would be able to locate his missing pet.
The pet care centre got in touch with the man after learning of the dog’s whereabouts, to which he was left heartbroken.

His dog had run onto a local highway, and was hit by a car and sadly lost its life.
What then became of the dog was barbaric, as it turned out road workers in the area took the dog away.
Instead of transporting the dog back to the care centre, they took it to their company’s canteen.
It was here where the canteen chef cooked the dog, distributing it out to eight members of staff.
The highway company has since said to have revealed that the employees would be punished, as reported by Need To Know.

They have assured that the employees did not harm the animal, and that it was already dead when they had found it.
The incident took place in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China, after the dog ran onto the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Zhuhai Expressway on 29 January.
