An influencer has been slammed online after suggesting that men should be paying a “husband tax” to keep up their wives’ wellness routines.

Karol Rosalin claims to receive daily messages from men praising her good looks.

But the 25-year-old recently landed in hot water for recommending a rather odd financial setup.

Karol believes that if men want their partner to have a hot body like hers, they need to pay for health and wellbeing expenses – from nail appointments and spa visits to pricey gym memberships.

“We, women who take care of ourselves, spend hours training, invest in healthy food, supplementation, fitness clothes and cosmetic procedures to always look beautiful and well-cared for,” said the influencer, who has 1.3m followers on Instagram.

“But what if we had fitness aid?

“A monthly amount just to help with our body care?

“After all, men LOVE to see us like this, always well taken care of… nothing more fair then, huh?”

Karol – recently named ‘The Perfect Fitness Woman’ by Playboy Australia – says women often feel immense pressure to maintain their appearance.

But she told Need To Know that this “rarely comes with recognition or financial support”.

To mitigate the issue, the São Paulo-based model recommends a simple solution: a monthly “husband tax”.

She said: “A man who doesn’t understand that a fit woman invests time and money to always look and feel her best is probably not the kind of man I’m interested.

“[It’s] absolutely a dealbreaker for me.

“This isn’t about “buying” anyone – it’s about partnership.”

But it appears her beliefs haven’t always been met with understanding.

Karol said: “There was a guy who loved to say I was his dream woman, that he admired my dedication, but when I brought up sharing the costs of this lifestyle, he thought it was absurd.

“What I found absurd was that he wanted a girlfriend with a flawless body, without understanding the investment behind it

“He wanted the results without being part of the process.

“So I chose to move on alone.

“There’s no point in admiring from a distance and disappearing when it’s time to support.”

Users have flocked to the comments to share their thoughts.

“You’re already full of money and asking for fitness help, huh?” Rafael commented.

Another user added: “I think us men need help, to be able to continue helping you!”

“Help, work, go to work and value yourself more” Ndetoni commented.

Rodrigo said: “And all the s**t I’ve ever heard, this was the worst.”

“Men also need this help,” someone else added.

Karol herself is dedicated to her fitness and diet routine.

She does weightlifting five times a week, daily cardio and focuses her meals on natural foods like sweet potato, cassava, chicken, eggs and oats.

But the influencer, who had paid her fair share for keeping up an ex-partner’s fitness, says men to be accountable for their own practice.

And not rely on anyone else.

She added: “I have [covered a man’s expenses] and it was the biggest waste of time in my life.

“I paid for healthy food, encouraged him, and what did he do? He secretly ate junk food and got offended when I held him accountable.

“A man who truly wants to take care of himself does it on his own – he doesn’t need to be carried.”
