Andrea Regazzoni had just given up work.
He’d never left his native Italy before.

After arriving in Egypt, Regazzoni shared snaps of his getaway with pals.
He went on a Nile cruise, visited the Valley of the Kings, the Pyramids, and museums, and relaxed at the resort in Marsa Alam.

But during the escape, he began feeling unwell, possibly after contracting a mysterious virus.
He remained confined to his room for two days but sent messages to his loved ones to reassure them.
His symptoms didn’t seem too serious at first.

However, the friends he’d made during the trip ended up taking him to the infirmary, and then to the hospital.
Andrea passed away in hospital on Sunday (9 Feb) evening after coming down with a high fever and flu-like symptoms.
By the time his family was informed, nothing could be done for him, as reported by Need To Know.

Andrea was from Santa Brigida, northeast of Milan and worked at an electronics company in nearby Val Brembilla.
He is set to be cremated in Cairo, as per his family’s wishes.
His funeral will be held at a later date in Piazza Brembana, where he was born and where his elderly mother Rita lives.
He is also survived by his brother Ferruccio and his sisters Sonia, Onorina, and Eleonora.
