An actress and former Miss Asia World has passed away from a viral infection while pregnant.
Angy Morad died at the age of 33 following complications from the virus she contracted during her second pregnancy.
The Syrian actress, best known for her roles in TV dramas, was admitted to intensive care in late January before succumbing to the viral infection on 9 February.

Concerns over her health spread after she posted a worrying message on Facebook on 25 January.

She simply said: “I am dying, forgive me.”
Her condition worsened during pregnancy, leading to serious lung complications.
Reports said she had been fighting pneumonia before being moved to intensive care.
Her husband Samer later said on her account: “Angy is in a difficult situation between life and death.
“Please pray for her.”
After Angy’s family confirmed her passing, her mother posted on Facebook: “May God have mercy on you, my daughter.”

Angy was born in the Syrian capital Damascus in 1992.
After graduating from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, she began her acting career in 2007.
She is best known for her roles in Syrian drama series such as Baqaa Daw 13 and Al-Gharib.
She stepped out of the limelight in 2020 before returning to acting in the series Souq Al Haramia, which began airing on 19 January this year.
Angy found international fame in 2017 when she was crowned Miss Asia World, as reported by Need To Know.
She leaves behind her husband and a young daughter.
