Prosecutors have accidentally played a p*rn video during the trial of an ex-president.
The gaffe happened at a virtual court hearing in the trial of former president of Colombia Álvaro Uribe.
Uribe, who served from 2002 to 2010, is on trial for bribery of witnesses in criminal proceedings and procedural fraud.

At the session on Friday (7 Mar), the lead prosecutor was showing the judge a set of files extracted from the phone of lawyer Juan José Salazar.
Marlene Orjuela had intended to play audio recordings of conversations between Salazar and lawyer Diego Cadena.

Salazar and Cadena were part of Uribe’s legal team and are implicated in his trial.
But instead, she opened two completely unrelated files.
The first was a video of a short-statured person holding a bottle of alcohol while dancing to Latin music blasting from a vehicle.

“Your Honour, my apologies,” chuckled Orjuela as the clip played.
“We wanted to show everything that the doctor (Diego Cadena) had sent, but we didn’t foresee that this would happen.”
Her colleague Luz Mireya López clarified: “We have 57 files consisting of videos and audio recordings.”

Orjuela then opened the file beneath it and an AI-enhanced video of a woman’s genitals began playing.
As the judge and lawyers representing the victims laughed, the prosecutor stammered: “My apologies, Your Honour, but, well… it’s just that…”

Uribe and his lawyer Juan Felipe Amaya, however, maintained a stony silence.
If convicted, Uribe, 72, faces a maximum sentence of 12 years for bribery plus eight years for procedural fraud.

Colombian law allows for sentences to be served concurrently.
The former politician denies the charges, as reported by Need To Know.

The next hearing takes place on Tuesday (11 Mar).
