Manaus is popular with domestic and foreign tourists due to its location within the Amazon rainforest.
White, a 41-year-old US national, had checked into the hotel alone on Thursday (6 March).

He was staying in a suite overlooking the pool.
He was found lying on the ground near the pool on Monday (10 March) morning.
A photo shows his body on a patch of grass covered by a blue tarpaulin.
It is believed White died after falling from a considerable height in the early hours of Monday morning, as reported by Need To Know.
The police are now working to determine whether he fell or was pushed from the balcony of the 11th-floor suite.

Detectives are looking at CCTV footage from the hotel for clues about what happened in the hours before the tragedy.
They hope to clarify if the US citizen had received any visitors in his room prior to his death.
The hotel had not issued a statement about the incident at the time of writing.
The investigation continues.
