It creeps up on us every year, but with Mother’s Day just around the corner, we’ve compiled some top picks to gift your mum this year.

While many of us are often scrambling at the last minute and forced to grab a half-hearted bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates, Mother’s Day can be far more personal with a little forward-planning.

We’ve tried some of the best products on the market to show the mums in our lives some love on Sunday 30th March – with something to suit every budget.

PAMPER PERFECT

Starting strong with all things wellness – because what is Mother’s Day if not an excuse for mums to enjoy some well-earned self-care?

For the bathers among us, the Gaia Skincare soothing bath set for £45 is the perfect treat.

It comes with a large tub of bath salts and a lemongrass-scented bath oil that sits beautifully on the skin.

The set comes in a luxe box that won’t even require wrapping up – simply hand over with a card and flowers, and you’ll be in mum’s good books.

If you’re not sure what scents she will enjoy best in the tub, Elemental Herbology has a set of five aromatherapy bath and body oils which can help her find ‘her’ signature choice.

‘Rejuvenate’ has lemongrass, ho leaf and nutmeg, while ‘Zest’ has sweet orange, rosemary and marjoram.

‘Harmony’ uses mandarin, cedarwood and lime, and ‘Detox’ has rosemary, grapefruit and juniper berry, while ‘Soothe’ uses lavender, ylang ylang and rose damask.

The ‘five elements bath and body experience’ retails at £28 and would pair perfectly with a candle – see below for reccs!

Continuing with something for her to enjoy post-bath: the Home Care dermaroller set at £48 is a budget way of gifting a facial.

Rather than fork out for a pricey singular treatment, the microneedling tool promotes blood circulation and helps to achieve a glowing complexion.

With lash lifts more popular than ever, another DIY-style treatment comes in the Mavala Lengthy Lashes Duo, which features an overnight lash serum to promote fuller, thicker lashes.

Priced at £25.85, you also get a mascara included to complement the serum – a sweet little set for any mum wanting to enhance natural beauty.

For the makeup-loving mums, however, Glow & Restore is a one-stop shop for the one thing people often forget to invest in: high quality brushes.

To save your mum the hassle of loose hairs from old brushes, consider purchasing her a new staple brush – or even a full set.

For foundation wearers, the GR11 Foundation Brush is worth every penny of its £18, but if you are looking to splurge, you can purchase a full set for £80 which will cover even the most savvy routines.

CLASSIC GIFTS

It wouldn’t be Mother’s Day without some nice smellies, right?

Well, we’ve got a handful of strong choices, whether your mum prefers candles or diffusers, and whatever her favoured scent.

Starting off with a candle truly worth spending on: independent brand Sazy’s natural wax candle collection features all the classic scents, done incredibly well.

No overpowering perfumes, no wicks burning out prematurely – just good quality, and well packaged candles.

They cost £24 each and come in four staple scents, with the Orangerie candle standing out.

If the candle isn’t the main event and you are looking for a smaller, more budget-friendly option, LaneLuxe London candles are £14.99 and come in petite, aesthetic tins with wooden wicks – an easy crowd-pleaser.

If your mum would prefer a diffuser, a really unique option is the Volcanic Potpourri Lava Rock Aromatherapy Diffuser by Boostology at £22.

It works by adding a few drops of an essential oil to the natural lava and obsidian rocks, which then soak up the oil and slowly release the aroma into the room – gorgeous.

For a more traditional option, The Copenhagen Company diffusers are renowned for a reason, managing to emit a strong fragrance without being overpowering.

At £14.99, they are well-priced, and the ‘peony blush’ scent is particularly special.

TASTY TREATS AND TIPPLES

While grabbing a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine for mum is nothing to sniff at, if you fancy elevating your gift – and bagging some brownie points – this year, here are a few options that will guarantee a big smile.

Has there ever been a better combination than cheese and chocolate? Certainly not if it comes from Snowdonia Cheese, who have put together a tasting basket especially for Mother’s Day.

Featuring four of the classic cheeses – red devil, green thunder, black bomber and red storm – the team has paired four flavours of Willie’s Cacao to complement them, including ginger lime, el blanco, milk of the gods and Surabaya gold.

Coming in a gorgeous woven hamper, it’s the perfect ready-made gift at £45.

Continuing with the chocolate theme, Sixways ‘Unwind and Recover’ mushroom blend in cacao dream flavour is an ideal choice for the ultimate cosy vibes with some health benefits too.

The drink packs in magnesium bisgylcinate, ashwagandha and reishi mushrooms to promote sleep and reduce stress and anxiety – but the taste is that of a creamy hot chocolate.

At £32 for 30 servings, mums will love this thoughtful gift – and don’t worry, you can’t taste the mushroom!

With Spring finally coming out and the sunny months ahead, two delicious summery options are sure to go down a treat this Mother’s Day.

First – not just a delicious tipple but a stunning bottle too, the Italicus Italian Bergamot Aperitivo for £32 can be enjoyed over ice or mixed with prosecco.

The luxe fizz is made with bergamot, lavender, camomile and lemon balm – summer in a sip.

For a more citrussy flavour profile, Graham’s Blend No 5 White Port is a gorgeous take on the winter favourite.

At £28.50 for another beautiful bottle – very likely to become mum’s new makeshift vase! – the white spirit is enjoyed best over ice with a slice of lemon and sprig of fresh mint. Bonus points if you buy her a new glass for her new favourite tipple too!

And finally, no celebration would be complete without a bottle of fizz.

Our top choice this year? The Graham Beck Pinot Noir Rosé.

At £23, it looks and tastes like luxury, and is sure to go down well with mum – though she may not want to share with the rest of the family!

PET MUM

Not forgetting those looking after furry friends this year – dog and cat mums also deserve to be spoiled this Mother’s Day.

If you’re looking for a true showstopper, ordering a custom portrait of your pet is sure to go down very well.

Portrait artist Katie House, based in Devon, specialises in capturing animals in truly beautiful portraits for anyone looking for an extra-special way to celebrate this year.

Another gorgeous option – and well-priced at £32 – is a custom paw necklace from Potiega, where you can get your dog’s name engraved.

And if you’d like to spoil your pup while you’re at it, how about some luxe dog treats from Ruffingtons?

The company creates specialist treats including dog-friendly eclairs, donuts and canine cupcakes, with prices starting at £5 – an adorable bonus.
