Her mother saw her lying next to her phone and presumed she had fallen asleep.
When she went to wake her daughter, the mum realised she had been electrocuted.
She turned off the electricity in the house, but it was too late.
She died in the district of Sikhoraphum District in Surin Province, Thailand, on 7 March.

Paramedics arrived on the scene, but they could only confirm the teen’s untimely passing.
According to the police, the charging cable appeared burned while the extension cable was frayed and repaired with tape.
They suspect the faulty cables were the cause of the girl’s electrocution, as reported by Need To Know.
An autopsy has been carried out on the teenager’s body to establish her exact cause of death.

The Thai authorities advised residents to avoid using their mobile phone while charging and to ensure that all power cables are intact.
They also suggested checking the plug sockets and surrounding wall for dampness.
The police investigation is ongoing.
