On the day of her disappearance, the suspect reportedly dropped the victim off at her flat.
Barbara was supposed to meet up with her ex, who she shared a then three-year-old child with, but she never arrived.

Over the past three decades, there have been extensive investigations carried out to find the mum, reports Need To Know.
According to local reports, it was believed that she had been “taken against her will”.
Numerous searches were conducted and leads followed but Barbara from Iowa, US, was never found.
On 10 March 2025, it was announced that the Iowa Cold Case unit had found new information which led to the arrest of Davis, from Council Bluffs.
The suspect has since been charged with first-degree murder by the Iowa Department of Justice.
“This arrest is a milestone in securing justice for Barbara Lenz,” said Attorney General Brenna Bird.

“We are hoping to soon bring peace and answers to Barbara’s loved ones, who have waited 35 long years in the dark.
“No one should get away with murder.”
Davis is currently being held without bond in Harrison County jail, where he will be prosecuted.
Barbara’s case remains active for now and the search for her body continues.
