Other gym goers could be seen filming with their phones or simply watching the scrap in amazement.
The baffling scenes unfolded yesterday (13 Mar) in Canaã dos Carajás, southeast of Manaus, Brazil.
Police are investigating the case and are calling in witnesses for interviews.
It is currently unclear what caused the fight.
Some reports say the couples fell out over having to share the exercise equipment.
But others say the scuffle was triggered by family matters involving the mistreatment of a child.
The fracas only ended when employees of the fitness centre physically separated those involved.
The gym, Fit Mania, immediately terminated their memberships, as reported by Need To Know.
A spokesperson said: “We are committed to maintaining a safe, harmonious, and respectful environment for all our members.
“We have taken the necessary actions and remain dedicated to providing a welcoming and well-being-focused space for everyone.”
The clip of the tussle has been doing the rounds on social media.
