The handbrake had been left off the MPV, it is understood, and it rolled across the rocks straight down to the water.
Both of the men ran behind helplessly however they were unable to prevent the inevitable.
The car crashed into the sea and became engulfed in the waves which continuously washed over it, as reported on Need To Know.
At least half of the Dacia was left submerged in the water.
The bill to recover the vehicle alone would likely have been several thousand pounds.
It happened in Brăila, north east of Bucharest, Romania, on 17 March, it is understood.
Local Constantin Nicusor said: “Does it not have a handbrake?”

Emil Patriche joked: “When you’re stupid and life is hard.”
Ghicea quipped: “The brain is no longer functioning.”
